Therapy Service

download.png

The Aashna+ Therapy Service was conceived to develop an accessible communal approach to individual therapy, where differences are affirmed and interconnectedness is embraced.  At its heart, the Aashna+ Therapy Service is a social justice project offering a longer-term service for clients of LGBTQIA+, global majority (collective term for people of Indigenous, African, Asian, and Latina descent), visible and non-visible disability, neurodivergent, working class and care experienced communities for whom therapy is inaccessible in mainstream therapeutic services.  â€‹

All involved; clients, therapists, supervisors and the Aashna Creative Team are participants in this social experiment. By co-creating a pot of ‘communal resources’, we contribute our presence, our commitment to the wider project, our time, creative energy and financial support according to our individual means.  In essence, the pot of communal resources enables us to offer accessible, inclusive and in-depth psychotherapy. What we are learning is that our core resource is a sense belonging to a growing community informed by our ethos of love in action. We embrace the belief that our lived experience, told and untold stories of our intersectional identities, personal, collective, intergenerational and ancestral is central to psychological, social and spiritual change.

Furthermore, all involved;  clients, therapists, and supervisors contribute to a ‘communal pot’ reflecting the following Tiers:

Tier 1

Clients are invited to contribute between £1 - £40 and therapists and supervisors earn up to £10. All involved contribute according to their means and desire to contribute to the Aashna+ vision.

Tier 2

Clients pay from £50+ upwards.  Therapists donate up to 50% to Aashna+ with the client's knowledge.  All involved contribute according to their means and desire to contribute to the Aashna+ vision with the knowledge that 50% of their payment will go to the communal pot to enable those who can’t afford it to have access to long term therapy.

If an Aashna+ therapist is approached in their private practice by a client they would like to work with under Aashna+, they are invited to donate up to 50% upwards to Aashna + service.

Community Group

The Aashna+ Community Group is part of the Aashna+ Service. Creating a space where your story matters. This exciting emergent new community group began in May 2024 a place where all involved are invited to share their told and untold stories. Together creating space for unique creativity, a place for sharing food, music, art and so much more. The group is held by two Aashna+ therapists Samia and Shanit, who are devoted to supporting the creation of a therapeutically informed community at Aashna. The groups speak to those who are longing for connection, a sense of belonging and feel the need for community. We invite all Aashna+ clients- past, present or future. Further, we extend our invitation to Aashna clients who feel drawn to the ethos of Aashna+.

The group is closed for applications.  If you are interested in being part of the Aashna+ Community Group in the future, please express your interest by emailing info@aashna.uk.

Sustaining Aashna+

Sustaining Aashna+ is paramount to ensure we can continue to support our vision to provide culturally sensitive accessible therapy. Initial funding was raised through the home group, alongside funding through the Let's Get Uncomfortable project donations, Aashna+ GoFundMe and from April 2024 the Aashna+ Open Collective has helped sustain Aashna+ into our fifth year and beyond.

Donate

We invite our friends, family and Aashna community to donate Aashna+ via the Aashna+ Open Collective to support therapy to be accessible to our communities.
